How To Setup Rockspace Extender As Bridge Mode

Once you setup your extender as Bridge Mode configuration then it disables the NAT feature on the router and allows a extender to function as a DHCP server without an IP address confliction.

It will be helping you to extend the wifi signals as it does with other operational modes. Still, you will be able to connect all your device with the extender’s wifi.

If you are thinking this will reduce the internet speed or performance of your extender, this is completely wrong. It will not impact your network performance in a negative way.

Setup Rockspace Extender As Bridge Mode

If you want to set up the extender as bridge mode. You just need to change the operational mode on the extender if your extender is already configured. You need to log in to the extender in order to change the operational mode.

To access the login page of the extender. You have to have the current IP address of the extender. Most of the time, the user tries to access the extender administrative page by using the default URL re.rockspace.local or IP address 192.168.0.254. It will not work if your extender is already configured.

To get the IP address you can log in to your router and find the IP address of your extender. Now, by using the IP address you will able to login to the admin panel.

In case, you are not able to find the IP address. You can use an ethernet cable and connect the ethernet cable between the computer and the extender. After connecting the cable press Window + R on the keyboard. In the RUN box type cmd and click on OK. It will come with a cmd window or command prompt. Here, you need to enter ipconfig and click on Enter. Now, check the IP address in front of the Ethernet adapter. Finally, you have got an IP address.

As you have an IP address now you can enter it in the browser and it will take you to the admin login panel. Here you can enter the login password for the extender and click on Next. After clicking on Next, on the left side, you will see an option operational mode. Click on operational mode and it will give you an option to select. You need to select Bridge Mode and apply changes. It will take some time to apply changes to it.
